Hello all,

I just posted my story yesterday. It has been very helpful to just type this all out and be part of a community that I can relate to.

Since i'm here I wanted to ask anyone who might have some experience. Affair Recovery is a great program from what I hear. But are there any cheaper options that you know of? It's very expensive and I will spend the money if I need to, but maybe there's other options that are just as effective? Thank you.

I am not familiar with Affair Recovery. But, I think if you are looking for tools and guidance before you invest in that program.. perhaps you could purchase a book called "how to help your spouse heal from your affair" by Linda J Macdonald. While its probably nowhere near the extent the program can offer, it does lay out the steps to help get you on the right track to becoming a safe spouse.

You can take what you learn there and improve upon it and make it personal to your situation. You can highlight some things in the book and share it with your BS, and make it an interactive experience. Your BS could share what would be helpful to them or not so helpful.

Regardless of its potential or not to substitute for the program I highly recommend reading it.

There are tons of affair recovery stuff out there. I think part of what helps us understand better is the actual research we do to seek the information we do not know. We learn so much along the way.

My BH and I did Affair Recovery last April. We did the first virtual one, due to Covid.

We can both honestly say, that program saved our marriage. We have a long way to go, but without a doubt, it was worth it for us because we are still together and working through this disaster I caused.

Side note, Jon is amazing, if you can get him as your small group leader.
