Howdy. Why does it make me smile saying that? Because I'm visiting OK in less than two weeks. I'm beyond elated!
Post divorce. It's been exactly 5 months since my divorce but over 2.5 years since separating. I feel free, relieved, and grateful I can breathe again. I would be lying if I said I don't experience moments of loneliness. I'm navigating through that.
Pre-Covid, I was an avid traveler. I have booked my first trip. In less than two weeks I'll be in Tulsa for a few days along with visting Pawhuska to see the Pioneer Woman's stomping ground and lodge. (If you cook, you know what I mean). I'm excited to see the beautiful terrain of OK; its praries, ranches, wildlife, but also experience the city of Tulsa. The skyline looks beautiful and the parks around the city seem incredible.
So question for those who live near or have been. Must sees while visiting Tulsa?

Howdeeeee Hutch!

Anyway - I wanted to say HOW COOL IS THIS!!!! I am jelly of your visit to Pioneer Woman's places (seems she is expanding by leaps and bounds).
I hope you have a great time and please provide an update!

Downtown Tulsa stop at the Center of the Universe. It's a cool sounds echo chamber.
Gathering place, even if you don't have young kids to bring
Play some slots at Hard Rock Casino
Also, the city of Tulsa isn't really a "city feel" per se. It's nothing compared to NYC.

What's bringing you to Tulsa? Work trip?

They have a really nice aquarium.
(t/j) That's where my UH had sex with his AP. Seeing the word Tulsa is a trigger. (end t/j)
I wish we'd have had time to walk around the Riverwalk.

Thanks so much for your responses.
@EvenKeel Definitely, The Pioneer Woman is the highlight of my trip. I'll post an update. So excited too!
@LifeDestroyer Thanks for the suggestions! I was suppose to be in OK for work last year but my company changed locations for my part of the agenda. At the time I was going to go out to Pawhuska to see the Pioneer Woman's lodge, mercantile etc. So long story short, every year I do a girls trip with my mother and sister. Because of Covid, our trip was canceled. So I decided, what the heck. Let's do this. They are excited. I am definitely coming back with a pair of cute OK cowgirl boots and fun memories I'm sure. HA!
@leafields I hope you continue healing. Thanks for your response.

The aquarium is nice. If you're going to be out by Jenks, then you should rent some bikes with the girls and ride down Riverwalk. The bikes aren't expensive, and if it's a nice day then you'll love it. Just don't expect to be astonished in a good way when you see the arkansas river 🤣🤣 If you see it then you'll know what I mean.
I have yet to go, but really want to, to the Philbrook Museum. They also have this beautiful garden that you can walk through.

Been to this area. Haven’t been back since the Gathering Place opened.
Brady Arts District is a neat area. Gilcrease museum is worth a visit. Utica Square is the hoity toity shopping area.
Pawhuska has a lot going on now that Pioneer Woman and her husband have invested in it. The Mercantile.
Nearby is Osage Hills state park and The Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.

Hutch if you are driving you might consider a two hour road trip to see Crystal Bridges, the American Art museum funded by the Walton Family. The art is fantastic (Ansel Adams for example) but the architecture of the building is incredible along with the trails. Just a thought. Crystal Bridges is in Bentonville, AR a two hour drive from Tulsa.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had a wonderful time and would love to go back. OK was beautiful and I had fun exploring. I saw lots of places from Tulsa's sights out to the praries and quaint towns. I'm so glad I went. There never seems to be enough time so I'd love to go back one day. Hopefully soon.
I did book a trip to the Outer Banks in November. It's been on my bucket list forever. I'm excited. I'm sure I'll post in November for must see sights of OBX.
