I'm not medical, but I think you can definitely suffer whiplash from any vehicle collision. Front, back, side. Google agrees.

What happened??

Yesterday, I was making a left out of a parking lot onto a road. Waited for a truck that was passing to go by then proceeded only to get T boned on the rear tire area of drivers side. That car came out of Nowhere.

Impact was enough to push ass end of van over and knock me into drivers door. Does that make sense?

Left arm shoulder hand and left side of neck are sore. Ambulance came said I was ok after checking back of neck, not the side where it hurts today. Was way to shaken yesterday to feel anything but sore arm.

Day after pain is not uncommon, so not surprised that between the adrenaline rush from the impact and your muscles now reacting, it makes sense.

See a dr today— it may affect your insurance payout too, and if you have any lingering issues you want to be sure that it is all documented now.

(Hope everyone is otherwise okay— that sounds scary.)

No urgent care clinics open here right now. Figures. It's ER only and I'll be there all day and night with wait times in the 6-10 hour just to get seen, never mind tests, x-rays etc...

The occupants of the other vehicle had their airbags go off. Driver had bleeding nose. Both refused ambulance to hospital. Police just said to report to collision reporting centre on Monday.

I called our insurance claim line. Guy was amazing. Sent tow truck to bring van home. Adjuster will be out to assess and rental vehicle provided. He did ask if I wanted to do an injury claim along with van claim but as I was alone (police/ ambulance had left, other vehicle already towed), and I was still shaking I said to just get van taken care of.

Definitely go in on Monday!! Whiplash is a big deal- my mom got arthritis in her neck from a car accident YEARS ago.

I'll bet if you go into urgent care Monday and they document the side of the neck pain, the insurance adjuster will be able to add it in.

And yeah, it's like with working out- the 2nd day is always WAY worse.

Hoping you get some rest with heating pads and motrin!

Is whiplash only front to back movement or side to side?

Don't sign off on *anything* in the first month, talk to a contingency personal injury lawyer and get a file opened. The insurance company will try to get you to close off asap. I had a herniated disk a month after a T-boner and was out of commission for a year and a half. It took years to settle but I eventually got a nice chunk of $$$.

Definitely get checked as soon as possible. T-bone crash can cause some serious after problems. I was hit from the rear while sitting at a red light. A 3/4 Ton truck hit me doing at least 45 MPH and knocked me through the intersection. (right up into the parking lot of a stripper bar!) smile Airbags came out. The impact was so hard the dash fell down in my car - a sturdy made Jaguar sedan. I had a torn rotary cuff from seat belt strain and had to have surgery. At the time of impact, I didn't think I was injured but within two hours I was hurting. Don't ignore any pain as it might bite you later. Like Faith says, DON'T sign any releases. I don't know how Canadian auto insurance works but here insurance companies feel their ONLY task is to collect premiums.

I will get checked out tomorrow. The urgent care clinic will be open.

I have never been in a collision with another vehicle. It was a new driver, teenager in the car with his mother. I got the van off the road, got out to find her screaming as she walked right to me.

I honestly was so shaken I didn't know what to do. As soon as I got off the road I sent a text to wh that I was in an accident. He immediately called screaming over the phone. So she's screaming, he's screaming, I was shaking. I hung up on wh and just called 911 and got a dispatch center for fucking Toronto so the operator is asking me questions while woman is still screaming at me.

Operator asks if I want police, ambulance or fire and I'm like I was just in an accident I don't know, so I try asking the woman if she needs an ambulance and she's just screaming. 911 operator says she will send an ambulance.

I have been first on scene to accidents and called 911 before and totally had control of the situation. It's totally different when I'm the one involved and worse when everyone is screaming.

Ugh. Insurance company to call tomorrow. I have to get to a police reporting centre. And get checked out.

No one that I know of. I know when the ambulance pulled up to me there was someone standing with the 17 yr old by their car. Maybe they got a witness.

I'm mad. I looked, it was clear, pulled out and they came out of nowhere hitting the back end of my driver's side. I wish I had a dash vam but even then it wouldnt habe seen thr side impact.

Thinking about it all now I'm surprised police and ambulance left and nothing was said to me other than to go to the reporting office Monday. No report was taken. The police were more concerned when my vehicle was being towed and then said since I had someone on the way they were just going to leave.

I sat for over an hour by myself with wh still all pissy calling and texting and being a royal asshole while I was on the phone with the insurance claims rep. It took a long time for the tow to arrive.

So sitting there at the side of the road alone only one person stopped to see if I was ok.

Wh smacked me today for crashing thr van and has yelled at me. Just wish they had hit the driver's door and done me in.
