Thank you, everyone.

Unfortunately, it was determined yesterday afternoon that she was brain dead. Her organs will be harvested soon for donation. Once they finish, she will be removed from life support and her body will pass there in the operating room.

When the aneurysm hit I was right next to her. She grabbed her head and screamed that her head hurt. I held her in my arms as they rushed to give her pain meds, as she had a history of migraines when getting too much medication. She was crying, "Daddy it hurts so bad, it hurts so bad". Within seconds of getting the pain med, she was out.

Deep down I knew she was gone as that pain med usually took 15-20 mins to knock her out. I didn't know what happened, but I knew she was gone.

About 10 mins later her breathing got very labored and within an hour she was rushed to surgery.

She spent 30 years kicking her heart disease's ass. Every cardiologist and surgeon that worked on her over the years, 5 open heart surgeries worth, they all said her heart issues were the most complex they had ever experienced. They would even all admit, post surgery, that they had expected her to die. And when she didn't, they'd all refer to her a their miracle girl/miracle patient.

To have her go out like this due to strep, it's inexplicable and infuriating.

Her heart prevented her from gaining weight. She was 5'1" and about 90 lbs. She was my stick of dynamite in a firecracker body.

Of my 4 daughters, she was the sweetest. She would call me at 1201am every father's day and every birthday. She was constantly at my house, constantly inviting me to do things with her family. She leaves behind a 7 yr old little miracle child (she was told due to her heart that pregnancy would kill her. She got pregnant while on birth control, was put into the ICU 4 times during her pregnancy, and somehow lived through it all) and a fiance who is completely tore up right now.

I already miss her so much.

She died in my arms, looking in my eyes wanting me to help her. And I could do nothing.

I'm going to be a mess for a good while.

There are no words in situations like this.
I hope you are finding peace and comfort in knowing her donations can save lives. It's may not seem like much but is a huge gift to those receiving.

Take some time and allow yourself to grieve. Ask about bereavement support.

Oh gosh Dear Sir...what you did wasn't "nothing". What you did was BE THERE to hold her. We can all only WISH to have someone who LOVES us with that much love holding us as we pass from this world to the next. SHE HAD THAT. What a BLESSING you were to her at that point in her life. It had to have been heartbreaking for you (((HUGS)))...but it was very much a comfort for her to have you there at that particular moment.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your sweet miracle child crying .

Oh, no.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

A parent is never supposed to outlive their child! 🥲🥲🥲

I will tell you this, I was a daddy’s girl. There is nothing quite like that bond. And there is nothing like the safety that a daddy’s girl feels when her daddy is holding her. You feel like you can face anything.

That’s one thing you gave her at that moment. There’s absolutely no way to imagine what that was worth… To either one of you.

I’m so very sorry. .

My deepest condolences for your loss. We grieve with you.

What Want2BHappyAgain said and then some. What you did was not nothing, it was everything! You were there with her and she knew it and her last moments were not alone but in your loving, caring arms.

Please be kind to yourself and take care as you navigate this unthinkable grief.
