I've been watching a Brit series called Supersizers Eat the <decade> on the YouTubes.
This couple go back in time and eat the diet of the era. Some of it is quite as in the Tudor Period for instance - you have been forewarned about 'nose-to-tail' eating...
My favourite so far is the 70s, because I came of age then and the food was really quite decadent. Fondue and Harvey Wallbangers, yeah!

..there's a couple of guys on a show who eat really 'old' food... like open a can of ww1 beans and grab a spoon!
..I have to admit to scraping the mold off a slab of cheddar now and then! Old cereal doesn't bother me either...2 year old Cheerios still get soggy in milk last time I checked..
..recently I purchased 2 jars of jam. (I Love Jam) At home I read the expiry date... 2003
It tasted fine...I think?
