It is everyone's worst nightmare.
Diagnosed with a late-stage cancer, after years of bungled and inadequate medical attention...and then to discover that the best-practice chemo is not available in your province.
This taken from the back cover of the Cancer Olympics by clinical child psychologist, wife, mother, friend and advocate, Dr. Robin McGee.
I read this book out of interest. She is a local woman - intelligent, capable and determined. Her perseverance in the face of disaster is inspiring, the fight in her moving and uplifting.
It's also an excellent example of how social media (she created a web site/blog by the same name) supported her through a very lonely and painful experience (ahem).
