Anybody feel it?

I did not but others in my general area did.

These are becoming absolutely too often. We had a 5.1 a few weeks ago and I have some damagw to the top of my garage door area. Couldn't figure out why my garage door wouldn't work until I saw the damage.

Imagining NYC having an earthquake would be like a bad scene from a horror movie. Hope everyone is Ok.

It was in NJ, close to where I used to live. It was felt in NY city and surrounding areas.

We still have earthquake apps on our phones from the days of living in CA, so we knew about it right away!

There are some reports of people in the Boston area feeling it, but we did not. I have a friend who lives northwest of Hartford, CT, and she felt it!

I'm sure it was a scary experience to those who felt it.

That was a good size earthquake. I’m originally from NJ but now in California, and we had a small 3.2 this week also.
NJ does have earthquakes (one in Bridgewater a few years back if I remember correctly). I don’t know if the building code is designed for them in NJ, but all those beautiful old brick buildings will suffer if there is a significant one.

Hope everyone is okay and just shooken up. (

I'm in northeast NJ just across the river from NYC.

I had stopped to see my pregnant DIL and the house shook for about 15 seconds.

I was 99% sure it was an earthquake, but I also wondered if a train that runs about 3 blocks from her house had derailed. It was a bit loud for some reason.

No damage.

Glad so far it seems everyone reporting in here is safe.

There's a really cool video on one of the news media websites that shows the shaking from the Statue of Liberty cameras. I'll bet if you were at the top, you really felt it!
