I don't normally post when things are going well but this feels like a big enough life event that I'd like to share. My little boy started his first day of Kindergarten today! When it came time for him to go to class with his teacher he trotted off without a backwards glance. It was a huge relief that he was confident and comfortable enough to do that because he had complained for the past week about not wanting to go to school and being scared to go. I of course cried on the drive home about my baby growing up, but am so pleased that his day started so well!

Will be crossing my fingers that he comes home happy and makes a few good friends. smile

It makes things so much easier when they go off happy and not upset!! I hope he is making new friends and having a great day.

Hope you both have a great year!!

My youngest grandson starts kinder this week. I hope he's as confident as your little one!

Thanks everyone! He got through the day with flying colors and had a skip in his step as I picked him up at parent drive. He's talked about all of the things he did in class, friends he made, and other cool things like the waffle he had for lunch laugh He's also brought home his first bit of homework, but it should be easy enough for us to do! Another thing that surprises me is the tech teachers use to keep parents updated on how the kids are. His teacher actually sent a picture during the school day showing the fun he was having. While I was used to that for play school I didn't think they'd do it for Kindergarten! I'm hopeful that the rest of his school days stay as fun as the one he had today.

Also, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your grandson has a good first day at Kindergarten SacredSoul33!
