ITs been a while but it helped. I know longer have pain associated with my traumatic event. Took several sessions though.

I had a very positive experience.
I think it helped me. I felt that my provider was very skilled.

EMDR helped resolve some of the feelings I was having but is not a cure-all. My provider was sure to prepare both of us that there may be a lot of anger before any feelings of resolution. It was helpful to both be prepared.

It was a big help for me. It did take several sessions for me over time. AND, it isn’t easy. Be kind to yourself. I found that 2-3 days after a session, I would decompensate. I liken it to emotional chemotherapy. To feel better, it sometimes makes you feel worse and dwell in the trauma to process it. But, it was a game changer for me.
And, now….if I get triggered….I can find a multitude of bilateral sounds (use headphones) that will ground me back in the present. It is a great tool. It is a total brain hack.

EMDR was a big help to me. Helped to move things from the immediate/trauma center of the brain to the processing department where it belonged. Make sure you have a good therapist doing the treatments. EMDR made it so that I could carry again without the desire to put one in the AP's forehead should we ever meet. I know it worked, because I've run into him 3x totally unexpectedly and didn't have the urge to create a casualty once.
