Depressing.

Tell me something good.

On Saturday, my nephew came over and ripped out my daughter's old gross carpet and laid down some nice Pergo. Looks 100x better. Son's bedroom is next week, then hopefully master week after that.

I'm so pleased to be getting my little house in order.

Also, DD had her first half day of online school and it went great.

Funny, fall must be coming as we're cleaning up! I just posted about that same thing on ICR...

If you have central air, remember to change your filters because my gosh, when carpet gets pulled, dust gets around...

Thanks for the upbeat focus, and good to hear online class went well for your DD.

For the first time in history, my children are EXCITED to go back to school. Our numbers here are really low and I've been more worried about their mental health than about catching Covid. Traditionally my children have never loved going to school but since they've been off since March they are eager to get back.

Great upbeat post :)

Ohhh good call on the air filters! Its time anyway.

She's doing online school, but it's being facilitated out of her daycare. They just have a few spots for school age kids and we were lucky enough to be offered one. It's kinda the best of both worlds in that her exposure is limited but she does get some social interaction. And only one drop-off in the morning since my son is there too!

OK - here is something good!

My new girlfriend (and yes - it is official!) cooked up a nice surprise for us. We are both foodies (and all of the restaurant restrictions make this harder) so she booked us a flight to Chicago, two nights at a beautiful 5 star hotel, and reservations at two local places we had both read about.

And we had a blast! Even with social distancing we had a wonderful time. And she has the travel bug just like I do

So now we are planning a 2 week trip to Southeast Asia - Vietnam and Cambodia the first week and Thailand for the second. And it will be our first time to visit any of those places - I am SO excited!!

And, after this trip, I want us to go to Australia and New Zealand for a month. I have been 'down under' but have never seen New Zealand. She has never been to either.

So - fun times coming up for us! And a silent word of thanks to my late husband for leaving me and the kids so financially well off. He was truly one of a kind.

New love (combined with new lust!) is just so amazing. And, while neither of us has said the 'L' word yet? I am falling for her pretty hard.

Hope everyone has a happy Monday!

So much good, despite all that is going on in the world. I feel very lucky.

Most recently, I got a hot tub delivered, and while it's much too hot for me to want to use it right now, my fall/winter mostly at home will be much more pleasurable.

This week marks 5 years since D-Day (D- Week really...I kept finding more over 5 days). Anyway, tomorrow morning I take a major step towards getting a new job, which I think would be perfect for me in this chapter of my life. It's a psychological exam. If the last five years haven't sent me to the loony bin, I'm pretty confident I'll do okay

Life is pretty good!!

Signed a lease to reopen my coffee shop. It was a bike/coffee shop and very successful. Closed it due to business partner issues and now am reopening just the coffee part. Scored the most perfect spot in my cute, historical downtown and having a drive through.

Idiotmcstupid - good heavens! 50 lb down? You must feel like a new person. Good luck in court!

Phmh, I would have my ass in that hot tub with a glass of wine all fall.

Whothebleep - good luck with the exam!!

Tallgirl - I had to Google trigeminal, but I'm really glad you had no episodes. Your new friend sounds great. I love hiking too!

I have the best news , my cat temporarily stopped pissing on the carpet last week , its was only a temporary reprieve but thank heaven for small mercies . He is a bastard of a cat but i love him anyway . My husbands love for him is even more unconditional and he does most of the carpet cleaning

there was a great thread re asking future prospects for their tastes in design , i have a bullet proof idea , ask all potential Bfs if they can clean cat piss off a carpet 3 days a week

Will certainly separate the men from the boys :)

Throwaway that is awesome! We were only able to take a week and stay with my mom and dad, but it still was a great time. I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!

Siracha, I FEEL YOUR PAIN. We had 2 cats with no issues and added little Cleo in March - dear Lord. She is a MESS. She started off only pooping outside of the litter box, and one day I stupidly made a comment about how glad I was it wasn't pee. And guess what she started doing like the next day.
