I have read some Brene Brown and really love what I've read so far. (Rising strong).
I've seen a lot of people recommend Pema Chodron as well, and I'm not familiar with her books. I looked on Amazon and there are a LOT of them. What do you recommend I start with?
I am a WS and struggling with gaining empathy and poor coping skills, as well as fairly severe abuse and neglect in my childhood, if that helps any in recommending what to read.
Thanks

If you tend to be a fear-based kind of person "The Places That Scare You" is very good.
If you have issues with anger and like audiobooks I highly recommend "Don't Bite the Hook".
Those two were immensely helpful for both FWH and I.
I agree with Kayaker that "When Things Fall Apart" is a good one as well.
She has a lot of material on YouTube that is quite helpful as well.

I also recommend When Things Fall Apart.
Pema is a Buddhist nun. She became a Buddhist because of infidelity in her marriage. There is an interesting short YouTube video about her that is worth viewing titled: "Why I Became a Buddhist".
I read quite a few Buddhist books during R and found them to be very helpful to me. They really make you think outside the box.
