What is the best book you have read on thyroid health?
And has anyone read Hashimoto's thyroiditis Protocol?

Currently listening to "the adrenal thyroid revolution" by Avia Romm. Have not yet tried her suggestions. But she does talk about hashimoto and other things.

American Thyroid Association has an informative website. I received lots of heads-ups prior to my Total Thyroidectomy plus what to expect post surgery.

I had half my thyroid removed 28 years ago. Then the other half was removed 18 years ago. My specialist is certain I have had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis since before puberty and likely since birth (based on some issues I've had since long before then). My brother, sister, and mother are also on thyroid replacement and they recently found nodules in my father's thyroid. My father's mother had thyroid surgery for nodules long before it was even a big thing. And almost every one of her children has some sort of autoimmune disorder in addition to thyroid issues.
Do you know I've never read a thyroid book? LOL Maybe one of these days I'll pick one up just to see how bad I've been screwing up for the last 28 years...

I found The "Thyroid Sourcebook" by M. Sara Rosenthal very helpful... I had varying degrees of hyper-thyroidism (Graves disease) and hypo-thyroidism. It was crazy until I had my thyroid removed in 2011, and I was trying to figure out what to do... she has info on it all. Good Luck! Thyroid issues can be frustrating!

Emotional hell- I'm just seeing this thread. Did you ever try the protocol book you mentioned?! I just looked it up and it looks interesting. Was wondering if you had any luck with it? I too I that issue but so far am not on any meds or any treatment program.

I did finally buy the protocol book. I am just starting some of the recommendations. Some things are a repeat from her first book.
