I'm looking for a book about the life of travelers or Romanis.

I was at a lake with my SO a couple of weeks ago and I observed a family of travelers there. It was so incredibly interesting to watch them! They seemed so happy getting ready for the day. They have very little of material goods that matter so much to others in society, yet they are content (it seems).

It moved me, and I would love to read a book about their history. They sit outside of stores, and ask (beg) for either money or something that can be purchased in the store.

Anyone know of where I could start?

The title is meant to say "about" Gypsies.

May I suggest "Bury Me Standing: The Gypsies and Their Journey"

by Isabel Fonseca. It's more of an ethnography and profiles several families in some depth.
